I just saw Topshop is selling an inspired version of Gucci Pelham bag. I like this classic shape bag,produced in precious leathers and in guccissima embossed leather.It's big enought to carry all and it's fashionable.

Ho appena trovato una chicca sul sito di Topshop,una borsa inspirata alla famosa Pelham bag firmata Gucci. Questa borsa di forma classica è perfetta per un giorno di lavoro: capiente e stilosa. Ho già citato questa borsa in un precedente post Bag for your smart days.
Topshop ci offre la possibilità di possedere una versione molto simile alla borsa di Gucci anche se non ad un prezzo bassissimo. La borsa angelique è infatti disponibile da Topshop ad un prezzo di £150.

American fashion vibes dominate spring high street fashion trends. Parallel to the gipsy,native american,boho style we find the high school girl trend. Maybe under the influence of the big tv success Glee we can now shop for baseball jackets and pleated skirts. From the top we find some Topshop and Asos options,at the bottom a couple of vintage pieces.

My fashion inspiration of the day is double colored clothes. Not something of one color with borders of another,not a outfit with a top of one colour and a bottom of another,just one piece of clothing where a colour abruptly change in another with the two divided by an imaginary vertical or orizontal line. Examples of this trend are Chanel tights and boots and Margiela and Jeffrey Campbell boots
I put at the center a drawing of the coat i would wear today and on the right a example of a bon ton,day outfit i could be paired with.
The coat would be minimalistic defined by the colors.Under it i would wear a lbd with wide skirt to play down the seriousness of the coat. What do you think? (your thinking on the trend not on the scary frankestein model i put together with polyvore! :D)



L'ispirazione di oggi sono i vestiti a due colori.Non i vestiti di un colore con i bordi di un altro e neanche l'abbinamento di un top di un colore e la gonna di un altro ma i vestiti in cui un colore bruscamente diventa un altro e i due sono divisi da una linea verticale o orizzontale.
Esempi di questo trend possono essere gli stivali e le calze di Chanel o gli stivali rispettivamente di Margiela e di Jeffrey Campbell.
Ho messo al centro dell'immagine un disegno del cappotto che indosserei oggi e sulla destra un'idea di un outfit bon ton,da giorno con cui potrebbe essere abbinato.
Il cappotto sarebbe minimalistico, definito dai colori e il vestito nero ma sbarazzino con una gonna ampia per sdrammatizzare la serietà del cappotto.Che ne pensate?
(del trend,non della modella frankestein che ho messo insieme con polyvore :D)

Touches of Spring DIY

I'm seeking for spring colours and atmosphere. Today i would like to share with you a new DIY project that includes knitting .It's a flared, ruffled skirt.Even if seems complicated it's made with just purl stitch,the ruffle effect is done with a special yarn called Ondas.
You can find it googling ondas knit or ruffle yarn.
At first sight it looks like a normal yarn but when you open it's made of net.
Once it's opened you can start knitting it normally, you just have to insert your needle along the border of the net.
Confused?Don't worry,i found for you a step by step tutorial plus a pattern for a basic scarf.

The skirt is made of 2 pieces sewn together, a front and a back. Every side it's basically a trapezium.

Start with 60 stitches (for a size UK 10,USA 6,euro 38) or 64 (for a size UK 14,USA 10,euro 42)
at the third row start decreasing.
decrease one stitch each side (at start and end)
continue decreasing as shown
decrease 1 stich every 2 rows (twice)
decrease 1 stitch every 4 rows (twice)
decrease 1 stitch every 6 rows(twice)
then continue till the desidered lenght

repeat all for the other side.
Sew the pieces together then sew a wide elastic band at the top.

If all this is confusing then just take a flared skirt from your wardrobe and follow its shape,it will be your pattern or use one of the tons of free patterns i found at this link
