Out with the gold skirt

It's the first day out of the closet for the gold skirt.  I  put together this outfit trying to mix day wear with evening wear.

E' il primo giorno fuori dall'armadio per la gonna dorata. Ho pensato questo outfit mixando elementi del guardaroba da giorno con altri presi in prestito dalla sera come la pochette in perline.

The japanese armor sweater DIY

In front of a sweater i always had the impulse to discover if it was possible to cut it as a normal fabric and rework it. I did. I've bought a long sweater (actually 2, i needed 1 and 1/2 sweater to finish my project) and i've cut it with no mercy.
The inspiration was all the scuptural knitwear i've seen recently and the work of Simone Shailes, the cape she designed for Topshop in 2008.When i saw it was love at first sight, this diy is a tutorial to make a sweater that remembers that one.

I've taken the cardigan and i've start cutting it, i choosen to make a short outerwear sweater with 3/4 sleeves. I've cut the the remaining pieces into strips and i've secured the ends with the zig zag stitch. I've start sewing the loops over the sweater. The best thing about this sweater is the effect it does when you move. The loops follow the movement,it would be perfect for dance.
I'll try to make some pics jumping and moving to let you see the effect.
The experiment i wanted to try is rework a cardigan, the fun was to see something beyond what i was looking at the moment, was to see a different potential in a normal cardigan; if you want to try this you can make the loops knitting them and then sewing them onto a sweater. The back of the cardigan is completely flat. The fierceness of the sweater is into the shoulders that are really in the spotlight. What the sweater became in the end is a wool armor.

In these pics even the bugnato clutch make its appereance.
This bag i've designed is inspired by studs and origami fashion. The idea was to take the softness of fabric and trasform it in the rigidity of geometry. The result is an aggressive bag that looks like a weapon, like a rectangular morning star.

DIY lab: My creation Bugnato clutch

Today i would like to show you what i've been working on in the past weeks. It has been a real challenge but i'm proud of the result!
In a previous post i told you that i wanted to create something to go with my studded shoes, something edgy, something gagaish. I decided to sew a schrug and a bag. My inspiration were square studs natural crystals and origami.

I made some experiments with paper trying to figure out on how to do the shape that i wanted with fabric.First i chose the color:black. I found a black wool in silk fabric and i decided to go for it. I've cut a square and sewn its diagonals and the square stud was made. To magnify the effect i've gone with the repetition on this element and i've created the schrug shape. To increase the dramatic effect i've added some spikes on the edges of the shoulders.
The bag was made even more spiky, the basic element is a pyramid.
I really like the result it's strong and aggressive and the bag, it's like an armor or a weapon, the opacity of the fabric gives it some elegance, what do you think?
When my father saw it (i always ask opinions to those that count!) he said that the bag made he think to palazzo dei diamanti (palace of dimonds) that is a building situated in Ferrara that has an armor of diamonds all over it like an armor, here's the pictures i found for Palazzo dei diamanti and this architectural decoration is called bugnato,so ths is the bugnato clutch.

I've taken some pictures of the bag, i'll try to shoot some better pictures in the next days with the schrug, give me your opinion!!
