Show your bad girl glam : make a punk studded headband

DIY studded headband

 Bad girls are always glamourous. If your style is glam rock this headband is thought to bring a touch of aggressiveness in your everyday look while remaining chic. Try to wear this studded headband with a boucle, chanelesque jacket and a pair of black thight jeans.

This is a very quick diy and I'm going to insert it in a new diy category you can now browse from the navigation bar under the title called 10 minutes DIY.
It collects all my diy tutorials that can be completed quickly so you don't have to wait to wear your new diy must have!

To make this spiky headband you'll need:

• gold metallic headband 1 cm wide (this one is from H&M)
• cone stud beads (yes they're beads! they can be sewed or glued)
• glue

Per voi che amate lo stile glam rock e non volete rinunciare ad un tocco di aggressività anche nel look di tutti i giorni oggi vi mostrerò un tutorial per realizzare un cerchietto decorato con le borchie. Provate ad indossarlo con una giacca di ispirazione Chanel e un paio di skinny jeans neri. 

Questo è un tutorial davvero veloce che inserirò in una nuova categoria chiamata 10 minutes DIY. La trovate nella barra di navigazione sotto al titolo e raccoglierà tutti i tutorial che possono essere completati velocemente, così non dovrete aspettare per indossare il vostro nuovo must have fai da te!

Per realizzare il cerchietto avete bisogno di:

• un cerchietto di metallo (trovato a H&M)
• perline a forma di borchia (eh si sono delle perline, si possono cucire o incollare, la versione più comoda delle borchie che si sia mai vista! Cercatele online)
• colla

 

 

Put some glue behind the stud cone beads

 Versate una goccia di colla sul retro delle perline

then glue them onto the headband.
Start from the centre and glue one stud,

then glue 3 studs on each side 

at a distance of 3cm from each other.

e incollatele sul cerchietto metallico.

Partendo dal centro, incollate una borchia.

Aggiungetene 3 per lato distanziate circa 3 cm l'una dall'altra.

Studs are a diyer best friend. There are tons of things you can customize successfully with a few studs. They are easy to insert and the result you get is always an edgy accessory with a rock feeling.


How to insert studs:

• get the item you want to customize with studs
• use  a pen to mark the spots where you will insert studs
• use scissors to pierce the material
• insert the studs
• block them in place (depending on the type of studs you're using either close their teeth or screw them)

There are 3 common types of studs in the market;

you'll use

• flat back (tiny studs or glue on) to customize lightweighted cloths and everytime you cannot access to the back of the item you customize
• nailhead studs for medium weighted fabrics and leather
• screw back studs for thick leather

Ogni capo acquista un nuovo appeal se viene decorato con le borchie. Dopo aver imparato cad inserirle potrete ottenere in pochi minuti un  capo o un accessorio personalizzato e sempre alla moda destinato ad attirare l'attenzione di tutti.

Come si inseriscono le borchie:

1. Con una penna segnate i punti dove andrete ad inserire le borchie
2. utilizzate le forbici o un punteruolo per forare il capo che volete decorare
3. inserite le borchie
4. bloccate le borchie in posizione chiudendo le alette sul retro

Troverete sul mercato 3 tipi di borchie:

1. piatte che possono essere incollate sul capo, le userete per stoffe leggere o ogni qual volta non potete avere accesso al retro dell'oggetto da personalizzare
2.  chiodate per tessuti e pellame di medio spessore
3. a vite per il pellame più spesso.

The very best of Versace for H&M full lookbook is finally out and today we can make some considerations about the collection. When it comes to low cost chains collaborations with big brands the question is always the same: will the cloths be worth the price tag? 

Below I made a selection of my favorite pieces.

E' finalmente possibile sfogliare l'intero lookbook Versace per H&M ed oggi possiamo scambiarci le prime impressioni sulla collezione. Ogni volta che un grande brand collabora con catene di abbigliamento low cost la domanda che ci attanaglia è sempre la stessa: i capi saranno all'altezza del prezzo pagato?

I put my eyes on this skirt and top since the very beginning. I hope they will be covered with real studs because looking at them closely now they seem to be made with sequin foil fabric where sequins are just dots printed on. The bracelet is my favorite piece of jewelry from the collection.

Ho inserito nella mia lista degli acquisti  top e gonna qui in alto già a Giugno quando sono state diffuse le prime foto. Spero siano coperte da vere borchie perchè in queste foto appaiono più stampate che borchiate.

Il braccialetto è dal mio punto di vista il pezzo più bello della collezione di gioielli.

I'm in love with every single piece of the items above . The black dress and jacket are in leather, the two colored dresses are made of silk.
Questi sono sicuramente i capi più belli ed anche i più costosi. L'abito nero e la giacca sono in pelle mentre gli abiti colorati sono in seta.

Here are the baroque printed pieces. The bomber jacket is really cool, its price is still unknown. I'm looking forward buying the skirt even if I would appreciate a jacket to match it. The one above is absolutely my favorite bag although the price tag is high.

Un altro classico Versace sono le stampe barocche. Sicuramente acquisterei la gonna anche se mi sarebbe piaciuta anche una giacca da abbinare; anche la borsa è bellissima anche se un po' cara.

Riguardando le prime foto rilasciate in Giugno, alcuni capi hanno subito un restyling.

I would have bought with eye closed shoes at the right but the ones that will be available are slightly different.

Anche le scarpe sono leggermente diverse.

I like many pieces from the collection but since the prices aren't cheap I think that I'll decide what to buy once I'll be able to touch the quality with hand. What are your favorite pieces? Will you restist buying these pieces to save for one singol real Versace?

Concludendo direi che trovo belli diversi pezzi della collezione ma visto che i prezzi non sono bassissimi deciderò per l'acquisto una volta che avrò potuto toccare con mano i capi in negozio. I've been dreaming about a micro studded cloth for a while but the idea of inserting each mini stud by hand was just unrealizable until I found these "beads in a bottle" (doesn't it sound like something came out from Wonderland?). It's a gummy product you can squeeze onto fabric and that makes a ball that looks like a bead.  I found my "micro studding machine"! I picked the metal colors series and I started "to stud" a pair of black jeans. The inspiration is Versace. I decorated them around the lateral seam with the greek fret then I added a spiral on the front.

Ho sempre desiderato possedere un abito decorato con mini borchie ma l'idea di applicarle manualmente una ad una era semplicemente non realizzabile fino a quando ho trovato una ragionevole alternativa: perline in bottiglia (dal nome sembra un oggetto proveniente dal paese delle meraviglie). E' un prodotto viscoso che può essere applicato sulla stoffa e forma una pallina dall'aspetto di una perlina: una perfetta "macchina borchiatrice"! Ho scelto il prodotto in colori metallici affinchè la perlina sembrasse una borchia. L'ispirazione è Versace, ho decorato i pantaloni con una greca intorno alla cucitura laterale e ho aggiunto dei decori sul davanti.

If you want to decorate smaller areas rhinestuds are a good alternative to "beads in a bottle". They are small metallic studs that can be ironed onto the fabric, you can buy ready to use decorations or loose ones.

Se volete decorare aree più piccole le borchiette piatte sono una valida alternativa alle "perline in bottiglia" . Si incollano sulla stoffa stirandole e si possono acquistare in merceria interi decori già pronti o sfuse.

Versace nails DIY

Today my manicure is inspired by Versace. I firsty applied a mint green base and then I decorated it with a bronze color (it's a little sparkly and glittery). I made the decorations using a pin (yes for sewing). I dip it into the bronze color and I drawn the greek fret. I added a few dots on top to look like mini studs. Do you like it?

La manicure di oggi è ispirata a Versace. Ho applicato un primo strato di verde menta che ho poi decorato con un color bronzo leggermente luccicante. Per fare le decorazioni ho utilizzato uno spillo imbevuto nello smalto. Ho disegnato la greca e ho poi aggiunto dei piccoli pois al di sopra di essa come fossero delle micro borchie.

Studded statement jewelry DIY

I am loving so much my new shoes that looking at them again and again I had the idea of making a statement jewel inspired by them.  For this jewel I used bias tape. I've studded it and then sewed it. What do you think of the result?

These shoes are the proof that everything looks better, more interesting if studded. I can't wait to grab a pair of shoes and stud them. Even if we can have access to the back of the leather the shoes are made of we can fill the inside of the stud with sylicon and glue them on the shoes!

Queste scarpe sono la prova che qualunque capo acquista più carattere se è ricoperto di borchie! Non vedo l'ora di prendere un paio di scarpe e ricoprirle di borchie. Anche se non possiamo accedere al retro della pelle di cui sono fatte le scarpe per inserirle basterà riempire le borchie di silicone e incollarle sulle scarpe.

I've taken off almost all the embellishes and i've sewn a tiny chain on the front of the shoes

Tapestry nails, chains and drawer pullers are the ingredients taken at the hardware store for these animalier shoes. The inspiration are the eighties:the colors chosen (black an gold), the lion head and the excessive embellishes. What do you think of the result?


Chiodini da tappezzeria, catene e i pomelli per i cassetti sono gli ingredienti, tutti presi in ferramenta per queste scarpe sul tema animalier. L'ispirazione sono gli anni 80 nei colori scelti, nero e dorato e nelle decorazioni appariscenti. Che ne pensate del risultato?

Hey,this tank got my attention!Of course for the clear stud embellishment that as i read it's removable,i'm asking why?If you're brave enought to buy this top at this painful price you can't reduce it to a boring top.

This top is aggressive but it's nastiness is softened by the satin pink and the clear spikes, i love shoulders embellishments and i think it's very easily diyable as long as we can find the clear studs.

Questo top ha catturato la mia attenzione grazie a queste borchie in plastica trasparente ovviamente.Questo eccessivo ornamento è rimovibile e mi chiedo perchè?Se si è abbastanza coraggiosa da acquistare un top del genere ad un prezzo così esagerato perchè poi si dovrebbe ridurlo ad un qualunque sottogiacca?

Questo top è aggressivo ma la sua "cattiveria" è addolcita dal colore rosa raso e dalle borchie trasparenti invce che metalliche, credo sia un ottimo progetto fai da te di semplice realizzazione a patto di trovare le borchie trasparenti!
