Do you know how to open a walnut without smashing its shell? I didn't know that was possible untill I saw that my friend Pietro was capable to do it.
Last year I started collecting pieces of jewelry inspired by nature (do you remember the leaves necklace tutorial?) and once I had these beautiful walnut shells available it was easy to figure it out how to use them.
I dipped them in gold using gold aluminum foil to exalt their own beauty and then used them just like beads.
I still haven't told you how to not smash the shell (but maybe I'm the only one who didn't know it!). You have to insert the tip of a knife in a hole between the two shells, pivot the hand clockwise and *click* the walnut opens.
I used a driller to pierce these walnut. Please be careful when using these tools.

Sapete aprire una noce senza schiacciarne il guscio? Beh io non sapevo fosse possibile fino a quando non ho visto farlo dal mio amico Pietro. E' quasi una magia, si inserisce la punta del coltello fra i due gusci, si ruota la mano e tac la noce scatta come una serratura e si apre.

E' circa un anno che colleziono gioielli ispirati alla natura (vi ricordate il tutorial per realizzare la collana con le foglie?) e quando ho scoperto come salvare i gusci di noce ho capito subito come li avrei utilizzati.

Dopo averli cosparsi d'oro di pellicola dorata li ho utilizzati come perline.

This is the dress i made inspired by the feathered Versace one. Its shape is basic, i put all the effort in making the necklice with satin fabric. I'll show you how to make a band of  fabric that turn. Meanwhile what do you think of the dress?

This year has been a very special one when it comes to expensive weddings. We know Kate Middlelton lead off the dance wearing a McQueen gown (it's just my opinion or she completed ruled the press leaving prince William in the background?) then was the turn of Kate Moss in Galliano and Charlene Wittstock in Armani Privè who married price Albert of Monaco. They have been very different brides and the dresses they chose i think they reflect their personality. Kate Moss is always against the current choosing Galliano who has been abandoned by everyone during these months. The dress is daring and leaves the legs exposed but i find it very romantic and somehow hippy;i love all those gold details and random crystals. Kate Middleton chose McQueen, her dress is classical, a lot more classical than everyone would expect from McQueen label, maybe her directions have guided Sarah Burton in the design process. Charlene wore a very elegant Armani Privè dress with the longest train and it took 2,500 hours of work,40,000 Swarovski crystals,20,000 mother of pearl teardrops,30,000 stones in gold shades,3,000 kilometres of travel for fittings in Montecarlo,700 hours of work for the embroidery“kilometres” of embroidery thread coated in platinum,50 meters of silk duchesse,80 meters of silk organza,for the veil: 20 meters of silk tulle, 100 hours of work for the embroidery,sorry i had to write down these numbers because they really impressive! Quest'anno è stato l'anno dei matrimoni da ricordare:Kate Middlelton ha aperto le danze (si lei perchè William è stato appena menzionato dalle cronache) indossando un McQueen,poi è stato il turno di Kate Moss che ha indossato Galliano mentre Charlene Wittstock ha chiuso la stagione nientemeno che in Armani Privè sposando il principe Alberto di Monaco. Kate Moss è sempre contro corrente ed ha scelto di vestire Galliano nonostante il designer sia stato abbandonato da tutti negli ultimi mesi. Osa mostrando le gambe ma  il suo vestito è comuque molto romantico, hippy in qualche modo ed adoro i dettagli ricamati in oro e i cristalli sparsi qua e là. Il vestito di Kate Middlelton è nell'insieme molto classico,elegante ma sicuramente meno stravagante di quanto ci si aspetta dal marchio McQueen,evidentemente i consigli della sposa hanno guidato Sarah Burton nel progetto del vestito. Poi c'è Charlen in Armani Privè,un vero capolavoro di eleganza e sartorialità che ha richiesto più di 2500 ore di lavoro per essere completato. Qual è il vostro vestito preferito? Rumors says that Dolce&Gabbana may discountinue their  low cost line D&G to focus on their main line collection. The fresh D&G brand dedicated to a younger target may become a capsule collection dedicated to streetwear and sportswear. The spring 2012 collection will be the last one.

Voci di corridoio affermano che Dolce&Gabbana avrebbero deciso di chiudere la loro linea giovane D&G. La collezione dedicata ad un target più giovane diventerà una capsule collection all'interno della collezione principale dedicata allo streetwear e allo sportswear. what do you need? 

artificial flowers

gros grain in various colors (i used white,baby pink and purple)

pink satin ribbon

avrete bisogno di:

fiori in stoffa

gros grain in vari colori

un nastrino di raso per il fiocco

pull  out the plastic pistil

estraete il pistillo in plastica,basterà tirare

sew the petals together and cover the hole left by the pistil with some beads

ricomponete il fiore cucendo i petali uno sopra l'altro e usate qualche perlina per coprire il foro del pistillo

 

 stitch the white gros grain without blocking the thread at the end

eseguite una cucitura sul gros grain bianco senza bloccare il filo

 

and gently pull the thread, you'll see some ripple will form

tirate poi il filo e noterete che il nastro si arriccerà

 

stitch the white gros grain over the pink one

cucite il nostro bianco sopra quello rosa

now stitch the purple gros grain as shown and then press the pleats down with the iron.

I've finished the necklace stitching a row of silver beads between the pleats and then i've added a long satin ribbon at the back of the necklace, you'll fasten the necklace with a fancy bow.

a questo punto cucite il nastro viola come mostrato in figura e poi schiacchiatelo con il ferro da stiro in una direzione ottenendo delle pieghe. Ho completato la collana aggiungendo delle perline argentate tra le pieghe e un nastro di raso sul retro della collana che rifinisce e serve ad allacciare la collana con un fiocchetto.
