Yellow is an energetic color I feel the urge to wear as soon as the sun gets warmer and spring comes closer. It's a color that lifts the spirit and recharge our batteries. If you want to give a fresh start to the day don't forget to put some yellow in your outfit. Lemon, lime, neon are all all fashionable shades this spring.
Have fun mixing it with bold patterns and different materials. Speaking of different materials, pu leather,thankfully the much cheaper cousin of real leather, seems to be back on trend and Asos shows us a fun yellow (plastic) jacket that I definitely would like to wear. Have you seen the bold printed trousers by MSGM? I'm dying to wear a pair of those too!

Today is Women's day and yellow is also the color of  mimosa, the symbol flower of the day. The 8th of March is the launch of Marni for H&M collection a day to celebrate more than hundred years of social activism to achieve equality of genders.

Il giallo è un colore energetico che ci viene voglia di indossare non appena il sole diventa più caldo e la primavera si avvicina. Se anche voi volete un'iniezione di buon umore non dimenticate di aggiungere un po' di giallo al vostro look. Potete scegliere una nuance pastello o un giallo neon, sono entrambe di moda questa primavera. Divertitevi ad abbinare il giallo a stampe vistose o optate per un sofisticato abbinamento di stoffe di tipo diverso. Ad esempio potete orientarvi sul pvc o sulla pelle sintetica, fortunatamente entrambi più economici della vera pelle e tornati molto di moda potranno aggiungere dei riflessi lucidi al vostro outfit. Asos ci propone una giacca in plastica gialla molto interessante mentre MSGM ci stupisce con dei pantaloni con maxi stampa geometrica davvero sorprendenti.

Oggi è la festa della donna e giallo è anche il colore delle mimose, fiori simbolo di questa celebrazione. L'8 Marzo è il giorno del lancio della collezione Marni per H&M un giorno per celebrare oltre cento anni di attivismo sociale per ottenere l'uguaglianza dei generi.

Bananas bag DIY

I think that the Prada banana print looks like the bananas are popping out of the fabric so I wanted to make this effect real and I decided to do a fun bag with "banana fringes".

 Guardando la stampa di Prada,le banane sembrano proprio venir fuori dalla stoffa! Ho deciso divertirmi a rendere questo effetto reale e a confezionare una borsetta con le banane a mo di frange.

I used an heavy yellow cotton,fabric pen,scissors,adhesive canvas,wooden beads
Cotone pesante,penna per la stoffa, forbici,telina adesiva,perline in legno

On the back of the fabric I've ironed an adhesive fabric so the cotton won't unthread
Ho incollato con il ferro della telina adesiva così il cotone non sfilerà

I've cut many pieces of cotton in the shape of bananas
A questo punto ho tagliato tanti pezzi di cotone dalla forma di banana

I used a fabric pen to draw the outline
Ho tracciato i contorni con una penna per la stoffa

I've cut the bag in a "fish bowl" shape and I've pinned onto it all the bananas

Ho deciso di dare alla borsa una forma arrotondata e ci ho appuntato con degli spilli tutte le banane

I've used a few big wooden beads to make the handle.

Alla fine ho usato delle perline in legno molto grandi per realizzare il manico della borsa.

Vintage find of the day: the lace jumpsuit

Even if summer is arriving to its end I still feel the need of relaxing sunny days that's why I picked this fabulous vintage piece. It's a jumpsuit made of white lace and remainds of D&G summer collection plus it's a seventies design and we all know that the 70's mood will be en vogue this coming autumn.

Gareth Pugh s/s 2011 from space and beyond

Gareth Pugh did it again and he brings us in a world populated by space samurai. We start with clean cuts in white detailed with laser cuts.This panna colour is fantastic and i like the volant on hips the increase the ratio between waist and hips giving a more feminine look event with this very clean model. The fabric looks heavy but as the model walks the white trousers seems soft. The laser cut white silhouettes look geometrically cracked i like this effect. I like this collection because shows a concept and its opposite at the same time:the clean look give way to flashy silver metal eccessive dresses. The result is ipnotic i specially like the waterfall jacket. Notes for the catwalk: men with bags and the rigid metal accessories: belts and necklaces.

D&G spring summer 2011 enchanted garden

D&G is the collection for girls by Dolce e Gabbana take us in a enchanted garden, flower prints,lace dresses, plateau shoes, high wedges,wide leg trousers,jumpsuits.
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana explained: "We want to slow down time, without technology we would be lost but we want dedicate more time to more personal stuff like our relationship with nature. We have to respect nature, we want to redeem the arrogance of last 10 years“.

Welcome to the Milano fashion week!
This week at Milano 78 designers will show their spring/summer 2011 collections. This year the catwalks will take place in the centre of the city moving from Milano Fiera to Loggia dei Mercanti, Palazzo Clerici and il Circolo filologico.
It's a new edition that will not allow the magazine's directors rule the calendar. Last year Anna Wintour forced big designers to rearrange the show calendar to allow her be in the front row.
The director of Vogue would like The Milan Fashion Week be a long weekend.

Some gossip: Elena Mirò, designer of curvy women has been excluded from the official calendar.
The official reason is that her brand is not as famous as others and don't represent Italy in the World, but others say her curvy models are not welcome. Size over 44 don't represent prêt-à-porter. That's a really different opinion compared to last year where Elena Mirò opened the week making a statement against anorexia.
This year Elena Mirò collection is inspired by the fifthies when women's curves were en vogue.
